Hamster is a classic example of a once-popular toy that has gone out of style. While there are many ways to play with your hamster, there are also ways to get the same results without using hamster. These alternatives can be found online and in pet supply stores.
Many of these alternatives work better than the traditional hamster cage and litter box. By using other types of furniture, you increase your pet’s enjoyment as well as availability of food and shelter.
Roll onto back
Move your hamster to a new area by rolling onto her back. This is done by pressing the A and B buttons at the same time, or pressing both buttons at the same time.
You can do this in either clockwise or counterclockwise directions. Pressing A when you are rolling on her back and pressing B when you are rolling on her stomach works in the counterclockwise direction.
This process is similar to putting your child into a position for sleep, like placing their head on your chest or one of the fetal positions. Your child must be able to relax enough for this to work for them too!
Once your hamster has found its new home, you can close the lid to keep them warm and secure. Keep checking with a camera to make sure they have found somewhere warm and comfortable.
Push with back legs
To move the hamster, you must push his shoulders down with your hands. This is done by doing a leg-back step.
When hamsters are young, they do not have enough muscle strength to pull off these steps. So, at this stage, just walk up and down stairs!
As they get older, they can hold the steps more firmly so just walk faster.
Bring front legs forward
Most hamsters start their lives with this position. When the hamster is born, its front legs are just underneath the rib cage. The hamster has to get out of its shell and then it has to stand on its own.
This position is called roll-timing. During roll-timing, the hamster brings its front legs forward and clicks them together to create a more secure place to stand.
This position is easier for a hamster to maintain since it has more bones and more pressure on them in order to hold its position. The thighs also have more room for fat deposits.
Step forward with hind legs
Now let’s change direction and look at how hamster move with its legs. Hamster have long legs, which gives them some support. This is important in moving around.
Without the support of their short legs, hamsters would not be able to move as efficiently. This is why hamsters spend so much time standing on one leg!
Instead of using their feet to move, they use their long legs. When standing on one leg, the other foot is hidden away. By using the longer legs, they create more force against the ground to push themselves up off of the floor.
This is an important part of getting organized and exercise.
Turn head to look where you are going
This one is pretty basic, but so many creatures don’t do it that makes you think. You are literally going to turn your head to look where you are going.
There is a reason for this! You are doing it. Your arms and legs aren’t moving enough to get you where you want to go. Hamster have a way of moving their bodies that is almost invisible, but truely efficient.
By turning your head when walking or turning your back on an obstacle, you are saving yourself some effort and movement.
Keep balance by holding onto objects
Most people learn early on that if you can’t balance yourself, you should hold onto an object to keep your balance. This is a very good idea.
It sounds funny to say that an animal can balance itself, but it really isn’t difficult. The entire body is made of weight-bearing bones and muscles. You can practice keeping your balance by alternating between holding one foot up and the other, or one hand and another.
By holding two or more objects, you can practice circular breathing as well. This breathing method helps reduce stress and improve overall health. To practice, breathe in for a second and out for a second together!
This breathing method is very helpful for improving health as it reduces stress on all parts of the body.
Run on wheels
Most hamsters can run on wheels. The size of the wheel you use and how close the hamster must be when the wheel is running will determine how fast the hamster can run.
Hamsters are unique in that they can jump! So, if you have a higher-jumped hamster, he or she may be able to jump on the floor easier to get away from you.
The diameter of thewheel must be small enough for him or her to hop on and off of easily. If the hamster has to walk on it, it may not be good for them.
The height the hamster must reach before falling asleep or escaping must be similar to how tall he or she is because some hamsters can jump! If one jumps up and down while sleeping, it could lead to trouble.
They do not have a rigid spinal column like humans do
This is a big downside to the hamster. It does not have a rigid spine like a human. This means it can not twist in place like a person can, nor can it walk on two legs like one.
This also makes it harder for the hamster to get around. It must use its own feet to move its body!
But don’t worry, this doesn’t mean you can’t take your hamster anywhere. You just need to make sure you put it in a warm and safe place before you sleep!
Unlike people, hamsters do not hibernate well. If your hamster needs to stay warm or if you have trouble keeping it warm, then you must find a safe place for it.
