What happens if I give my hamster too much vitamin C?

Hamsters are prone to bladder disease, which can occur in large, crazy hamsters. If your hamster has this condition, it may require more vitamin C to stay healthy. Hamsters are also susceptible to heart disease and cancer.
Because of this, it is important to limit the vitamin C that your hamster gets. Currently, the recommended amount is 1 gram of vitamin C for every 3 pounds of weight.
If you give your hamster more than that, you may cause problems like kidney or liver damage or cancer. It is important to limit the amount of vitamin C that your animal gets to help prevent health issues like these.
Are there any side effects?
As with most medicines, giving your hamster vitamin C can have side effects. Some hamsters may not get enough of it.
